Hi!  We’re Aimee and Amy, creators of LevelUp Articulation.   We’re so excited to share the program with you, as we’re confident that it can make planning and carrying out therapy easier and more efficient.

LevelUp Articulation is built around our unique leveling system, which is based on phonetic context - i.e., how surrounding sounds or words impact a student’s ability to produce their target sound correctly.  For each phoneme, we determine a set of “complicators” and then use them to establish levels.

Word levels are determined through analysis of complicators* found within a word.

LevelUp Artic Phrase and Sentence Levels

The four levels of phrases and sentences are also organized according to phonetic context. Sentence and phrase levels are determined through the analysis of complicators in surrounding words.

Complicators

Simply put, a complicator is a sound or a word characteristic that makes the accurate production of a phoneme more difficult. Every target sound has unique complicators. SLPs need the opportunity to decide what level of challenge will make each therapy session as successful as possible.
